ICYMI: New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy Showcases New Jersey to Indian Business Leaders, Announces Collaboration Between National Research Development Corporation and Rowan University

HYDERABAD, India – In Delhi and Hyderabad, Governor Murphy and the New Jersey delegation continue their economic trade mission, showcasing New Jersey to Indian business leaders. Governor Murphy announced a historic partnership with the National Research Development Corporation and Rowan University, along with a collaboration between Choose New Jersey, the NJ Film Commission, and the Active Telegu Film Producers Guild to promote Indian film production in the Garden State.

National Research Development Corporation and Rowan University Announce Historic Partnership

Governor Murphy met with Dr. Purushotham, Chairman and Managing Director of the National Research Development Corporation (NRDC), where they announced a historic partnership between NRDC and Rowan University. The purpose of the MOU is to collaborate on R&D and to promote, develop, and commercialize inventions, patents, and processes emanating from various national R&D institutions and universities. “Rowan and the NRDC will help usher in the next generation of discovery and invention,” said Governor Murphy.

Governor Murphy and Choose New Jersey Showcase New Jersey to Indian Companies

Choose New Jersey hosted “NJ & India: Connecting Transatlantic Gateways”, highlighting New Jersey to Indian companies. Governor Murphy, NJEDA CEO Tim Sullivan, and members of the New Jersey delegation showcased the State’s business proposition across diverse sectors of industry, including Information Technology, pharmaceuticals, and advanced manufacturing, successfully positioning the New Jersey-India partnership for a future of growth.

Choose New Jersey, NJ Film Commission & Active Telegu Film Producers Guild Enter Partnership to Promote Indian Film Production in New Jersey

New Jersey and Hyderabad are both hubs of film production. Choose New Jersey, the NJ Motion Picture and Television Commission, and the Active Telegu Film Producers Guild signed an MOU to facilitate and promote the shooting of Indian films in New Jersey. The new beneficial tax credit available to film and television productions based in New Jersey provides general credits for expenses of pre-production, filming, and post-production. This credit is making New Jersey a key location for not only American film, but for global productions.
